Nlite Prob or Something elce?

well sometimes when i delete files the allocated space dosnt return to my HDD so if i have 250mb left and i delete a 1.09gb file i still only have to 250mb space free... im currently defragging and running my spyware and virus programs to see if that may be the cause but i also noticed that when i first installed the nlite that im useing that the recycle bing is full and when i click it theres nothing inside but when i hit empty recycle bing it says Do you really want to delete 'Windows'? and well sadly as much as i want to get rid of windows no i dont want to delete it... should i just formatt and say screw it?
