Modifiing LAYOUT.INF and SYSSETUP.INF

I need to modify LAYOUT.INF and SYSSETUP.INF for the french version of Windows 2000 Pro, Windows XP Pro and Windows 2003 Server (x86).

I have read that it exist a modified version of SYSSETUP.DLL which allow to modify SYSSETUP.INF without having errors during installation.

How can i modify this file (french version for the three build of Windows) ?

But I don't think this file allow too to modify LAYOUT.INF.

I create a test certificate. This certificate will signed a CAT file. This CAT file contains hashes of all modified files. This method is valid to have an installation without errors because of modified files ?

It would be all you need. It would let you modify anything. Don't forget to run a MODIFYPE on it.

Forged CAT files won't work.

It seems to work for Windows 2003 at offset 60FE3 and Windows XP at offset 60FE1 but not for Windows 2000 (with latest service pack).

In this, the file is the Windows 2003 version (5.2)
