Windows 2003 Server: Fax serice not starting

Hello

I'm running Windows 2003 Small Bus Server. I went into services.msc and tried to restart the fax service, but it hasn't started. In the "Status" column it just says "Starting", and I cannot stop it and try again.

When I told it to restart it took ages, and eventually gave an error about not starting the required time period.

How can I stop it starting and then try again?

Unfortunately, if it's in a "starting" state, that means it's hung. The only solution is to restart the server to free up the service.
