It's the same as in Windows 32bit - http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=282504&sd=RMVP. Almost always a hardware or driver error. If you can't boot into safe mode (i.e., no drivers loaded) but still get the STOP 1A when trying to boot in safe mode, then it's hardware for certain.
