Use the same userprofile localy and on the network - Windows 2003

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have a laptop, witch runs on XP. I already use it for a wile so there are a lot of configuration and files in mij user profile (desktop, my documents, cookies etc.) the user on my laptop is called "piet janssen".

Now I have connected my laptop to a windows2003 server with the domain called "work". On the server I have created an account for my laptop (piet janssen). When I wants to connect with my laptop to this server, the server is making a new user profile. I did not want to lose al my data, so i copyt, the data from:

C:\Documents and Settings\piet janssen\

my old profile, To:

C:\Documents and Settings\piet janssen.work\

Everything seems to work. Only one big problem happened. If my laptop is at home, and I cannot login in to the WORK domain, I can't connect to the user profile "piet janssen.work", an I have to connect to my old user profile, witch is empty.

Is there a way to configure my laptop and/or server, just that he always will always use one user profile.

Thanks in advanced.
