Kannan
Hi all,I am thinking of doing Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD) Certification but I am confused as there are three lanes,Professional Developer: Web Developer Professional Developer: Windows Developer Professional Developer: Enterprise Applications DeveloperI would like to know which lane is the best and most required.Which type of application (Web or Windows or Enterprise Applications) is most developed in the IT industry so that I can do certification for that lane. Please suggest me.Kannan.BBinary Bits. JaymanIT
I would suggest looking at the job market in your area (local newspaper, monster, dice, etc.) to see what employers are looking to hire. You might also check with employment agencies that specialize in tech-related fields and ask some questions. However, having a certification does not guarantee anything. I work for a medium-sized financial institution and not a single person on our IT staff holds any certifications - we hire based on ability. I just found out the other day that when I got my job (5 years ago), I was chosen over someone that had an MCSE; when the MCSE was given situations to troubleshoot he always used the Microsoft answer, not what is realistic.I am not bashing certs, it is important to gain experience beyond them too.
