hmm...

so, i have two user accounts on my PC (windows xp pro.) now since im a windows media player user, i keep my media library within the program.

PROBLEM is that other users can see my media library when they open Windows Media Player from THEIR account. when they try to play the songs it doesnt work though. it just goes red with the exlaimation mark and wont play. but it does show up. so when they use the media librayr to hold their songs, it can get confusing to know which songs are whose.

so how do i fix this?

the thing is, i mean, this may affect other applications as well. i havent tested it yet, but i was thinking that my settings, or favourite articles saved in Encarta, or even my saved sites in FlashFXP with saved passwords will all be seen from the other account. is there a simple way to solve this problem? particularly the windows media player problem.

If it's XP Pro, you should first make sure that people aren't running as administrators, but limited users. Then, use NTFS permissions to specifically DENY access to list files and folders to everyone but your user account - since deny permissions take preference over allow permissions, a user would not be able to see or use files and folders they have been denied list and read access to.
