Problem: Couldn't install software...

Featured Replies

The problem: i mount an image (.iso .cue), then I try to install the software it contains. The setup runs with no problems , but when I press the final "next" button and when the installation is supposed to start normally...it doesn't.

1. The installation process should be seen during the installation time but not.

2. The hard disk is working and the msiexec.exe process(es) are using some % of the cpu.

3. The folder i requested the current software to be installed is getting bigger in size and the files in it have been created as if it is a normal installation. Here is the strangest thing...when eventually the data on the current image have been wroted to the hard disk in the requested folder, some seconds after the contents of the folder begin to disappear and finally after some seconds the whole folder is deleted himself.

Probable reason:

I have had problems with some of the services that are run through svchost.exe...it was taking the cpu usage to ~50-60%. Then I looked up in an article: http://www.experts-exchange.com/Operating_...Q_20947897.html

There or in another one was mentioned to unlock the system information folder on the system harddisk and do something with the _restore directory. I think I have forgotten to perform some of the listed actions in the guide there and locked the folder again. If there is any resolution to the problem except windows reinstallation share it with me.
