SlipstreamOS Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 During the initial XP install, it requests four files that are not present on the CD. The file names are unimportant, as my question is how do I remove them from the install sequence so that I dont have to replace them and get that garbage on my computer? If I created dummy files in their places, would that circumvent the need to press ESC every time it encounters a missing file error? Is there a list somewhere that I can edit their names out of?I appologize if this post has already been answered, but I can't think of the correct keywords to find them on my own.
muiz Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 Did you use nlite?Did you used a clean xpcd?some more info would be helpfullSometimes bad ram , or a bad cd/dvdrom causes this
RogueSpear Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 Sounds like you could have a corrupted ISO image. I had some settings all wrong in UltraISO way back when and had similar errors.
Djé Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 Have a look in dosnet.inf and txtsetup.sif in your I386 folder. Although the list is not exclusive and none of this is simple to deal with. You may also want to read thoroughly some posts on RyanVM's forum do understand what these files do...Anyway, good luck and thanks for all the fish.
