Hello,

I have some widly distributed customers who use my companies web based software. Bacuase most of them are comfortable with IE, we recommend it as the must use for our web apps. However, sometimes people play with the settings, and stop our pages loading. It impractical to call them each up and walk them through it because most of them are very green when it comes to computing.

I'm a developer looking to build a program that will list and email IE settings to me from my customers remote machines, so I can send them back small update apps which will apply the required settings.

My problem is finding comprehensive descriptions of each of the setting locations in the registry. Specifically to do with security, such as ensuring ssl is enabled and the site is trusted. I have found snippets here ant there which have helped. Now I'm down to getting all the sites to accept https urls. If I had a comprehensive list of the registry settings, I would be better able to support my customers using IE.

Can anyone help?

I've been at this for a long time now.

Thanks,

kinnon.
