Win2000 PC not recognizing 2nd harddrive with win98

First of all I would ike to say hi to everyone. Now y question is I have COMPAQ pIII 600 Mhz, with Win 2000 , working fine, now I have another HD with Win98 on it and lots of documents from my previous PC, now when I replaced win2000 HD with Win98 HD , the system recognise it but win98 dont start. I dont understand when I am replacing the HD why the PC is not booting with win98, .

Can someone suggest anything, Please.

you installed windows 98 under the configuration of your old PC, windows 98 is old it cant handle such huge hardware changes, u should just put both HD's in the PC and then load 2000 and copy the files from your old HD.
