dpcamp Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 I just installed ctp 5308 at my office last week, and have been tinkering with it. I ran an ipconfig because i needed to check something, and I noticed I was being assigned an IPv6 address, along with my IPv4 address. From what I'm learning so far on IPv6, it needs to be installed on the server, unless you're running longhorn server. The majority of our servers are Windows Server 2003, and I dont see IPv6 installed on any of the servers. How am I being assigned an IPv6 address?
fizban2 Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Just like IPv4 if you can't find a server serving IP address you get an APIPA IP address (169.254.x.x) the same holds true for IPv6
