MCE Failed Workgroup

Howdy everyone,

Thanks in advance for any help, just in case I forget later!

We've got 2 desktops and 1 laptop running Pro, who connect fine to my workgroup. My new Gateway running MCE is the problem. I can see the network from MCE, but no other computer can connect to it. MCE can ping and be pinged, but no resources are available to the other computers. I'm out of ideas now. The workgroup names match, and there's nothing wrong with the connectivity. I heard a rumor that MCE has workgroup issues, but it doesn't seem to be so from the other posts. I went so far as to dual boot my Gateway to also run Pro, but that failed as well. The hal.dll file kept going corrupt in MCE and I lost the OS. Any ideas on how to get the workgroup going on MCE or figuring out the dual boot?
