ebouza Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 I constantly receive this warning message in the event viewer (Application View)Error reading log event record. Handle specified is 749600. Return code from Readeventlog is 87.Has anybody received this warning message that can guide me in resolving this problem? Thanks,Erick B
cluberti Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 These events with that return value (87) indicate that they're coming from the SNMP service, and if this is a Compaq, it's a known issue with the management software in certain situations. If so, you will need to upgrade the management software to the latest supported version for your OS, or remove it altogether (if you choose this option, you need to remove and reinstall SNMP if you still need to use the SNMP service).
