I have a diNovo logitech keyboard and it has a bluetooth dock. In the past, that is, on previous installations of XP I have used that dock just fine to syncronize with other bluetooth devices. But now, that I need to transfer some files to my cell phone the **** thing dosn't register. I don't have the bluetooth icon in control panel and if I try the add new hardware wizard it dosn't find it. Also, it is not listed in device manager. So I tried to download and install the logitech drivers (which I haven't needed in the past, but have used successfully previously only to find out that they brake the back button on the mouse so I chose not to use them) and when I try to install those it comes up with a no diveces connected dialogue, which is really strange cause I'm currently using and typing away at the keyboard right now. Anyway, I found another version of the set point drivers which installed just fine but didn't fix the problem. I figure this to be a windows problem because I have used it just fine in the past without having the logitech drivers installed. In fact, I can't even add a bluetooth device manually in the add device wizard. So what do I do now? thx in advance.

After searching the MS KB I have found that in order to invoke the Bluetooth control panel you should go to Start>Run>"bthprops.cpl", however when I do that nothing happens. Is that any help in closing in on the problem?

I also found this:

Right click My Computer & select "Search"

In the files & folders box type:

bthprops & click "Search Now".

You should find this string:

C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\Download\6ca7b3a8e

fd5a9b6f87fff395a2eb989

from the icon list on the right

click the Bluetooth help files icon,

{it has a yellow ? question mark}.

Click Index & scroll down to:

Troubleshooting,

choosing services using bluetooth connection wizard

now look at:

Bluetooth devices cannot find each other

If you cannot find a Bluetooth device from your computer, check the following:

Did you use the correct wizard to install the device? You might have installed the device using the wrong wizard. When a Bluetooth device that is approved by the Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL) is present, Bluetooth support is enabled. When Bluetooth support is enabled, you can find changes in the Network Connections section in Control Panel. A new Control Panel item called Bluetooth Devices has also been added. In addition, you can find the new Bluetooth File Transfer Wizard by clicking Start, pointing to Accessories, and pointing to Communications. If an existing non-Microsoft Bluetooth network driver is installed, upgrading to Service Pack 2 for Windows XP does not cause the existing driver to be replaced. It can be replaced later, either manually or programmatically.

Thing is, the bolded part does not exist on my machine. Any thoughts?
