[Question] Optimal profiles setup

Hello

I am looking for the optimal partitioning/profiles/program files setup.

Eventhough every (re)installation I make is supposed to be the last one, I tend ro reinstall windows every 3-4 months.

I like concept of My Documents, Program files and all of that but I don't like the files to be stored on the same partition as my windows installation.

Preferably - I guess - I would like to have a dedicated drive or partition for storage. As I recall it though, last time I tried to accomplish this I had some problems with the drive letter. Adding, removing drives (DVD, HD) screwed up the paths and I could not forsee the drive letter my storage drive would be assigned before having installed Windows.

My questions:

1) Is there a general accepted best practice setup when it comes to storage?

2) How do I accomplish this when doing an unattended install (I use nlite)?

if you are using nlite...then you should post in the nlite section..

you can use powertoys to redirect your "special folders" (my documents, my music, my pictures) to a 2nd disk drive where you store your files.

Well, the question is not about nlite itself or how to use it. Rather how I should "design" the setup in terms of partitions etc.

For instance, what comments would you have on the following setup in a dual boot system.

Drive 1: (2 x 250 MB SATA in RAID 0)

P1 25 GB Win XP pro - dedicated

P2 25 GB Win XP 64 - dedicated

P3 450 GB Storage - My docs shared between XP pro and XP 64 (is this possible?)

Drive 2: 300 GB IDE

P1 10 GB pagefile - dedicated

P2 290 GB Program files shared between XP pro and XP 64 (is this possible?)
