jstclair
Hi, first post! So, I have a Acer TravelMate 800 laptop with a built-in Intel PRO/Wireless LAN 2100 3B Mini-PCI adapter. Previous CTP of Vista would not install; current Feb CTP installed flawlessly, but despite the hardware looking to be fine, I could not connect to anything with wireless. This notebook has a hardware on/off switch and a status light; I noticed that the light would always turn off when I initiated a network action (try to connect, etc.). So, thinking this may have something to do with power-saving (I do have a problem with notebook not resuming from the normal sleep mode in Vista; for now have just switched it to hibernate only), I disabled all the auto settings in device manager for the network adapters, and pushed them up to their maximum value. After that, tada! Wireless is up and running without a hitch.Hope this helps someone if they have a Intel wireless adapter John
