hands-onu Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 I have a HP m7160n MCE and the TV tuner has never worked properly. It only picks up 2(fuzzy) of the 80 channels that I should get. The rest of the computer is great. I've tried everything that I can to get it to work. I think it may be defective?I've spent hours on the phone and online with tech support at HP, nothing! I even returned it and bought a whole new computer, same problem. I know that the TV signal is fine because I can use a regular TV and get all the proper channels. I've tried to install updates and a new driver to no avail. HP sent me a new TV Tuner card. Same as the original, ASUS FalconII TV Tuner. No help, I even tried moving it to another slot on the motherboard. As a side note, when I accidently switched my regular TV to "antenna" instead of "cable" it got the same two fuzzy channels that the computer is picking up. Please tell me that someone else has had this problem or knows how to fix it.
Biohead Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 Is your cable decoder plugged in? Or is the Tuner cable compatible?
hands-onu Posted February 12, 2006 Author Posted February 12, 2006 The machine is supposed to be compatable with satalite, digital and standard cable and also an antenna. I've done everything according to the instructions that came with the machine. In my case I don't have digital cable so we plug the cable right in to the TV(or computer).
Biohead Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Wierd, can you try using an antenna to see if you can get any channel through there?
