network - domain problems with xp

hello

XP is driving me banana's

i have 2 serious probs with it and i hope to find any helping hand here :-) :-)

i have a domain running on win2k server no problem with the domain

now every time i join a XP-Pro ( sp2 ) workstation to the domain

the workstation lost his dataconnection from the domain ( the nic is ok )

i can't brows the domain any more , but i can ping it normally

i can't access files and more

when i check the control leds on the network switch they are on so the connection is there.

whats wrong ???

second part , it's almost the same but now with a SQL server

it's realy frustrating every 20 min the connection to the database has been lost

and this problem is only a XP problem.

and it's not workstation related as we use several types of brands
