NicktheStick91 Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 I'm trying to install Vista, but when I select a partition to install it onto, after it gets to where it says "Installing Windows", something pops up that says:"Setup was unable to locate a locally attached hard drive suitable for holding temporary files." When I click ok, installation cancels. The partition I'm trying to install it on was made with Symantec PartitionMagic, and has NTFS with 10GB of space. If there is a way to fix this, please let me know. Thanks in advance!BTW, after trying to install it last night, I can't boot into Windows XP, so if someone can help me with that, it will be GREATLY appreciated.
fizban2 Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 you will need at least a 12 gig partition, 10 for the installation and 2 for the temporary setup files, or have a second HD or partition avaiable. if this is a VM just up the HD size, if it is an actual HD just you PM to resize the drive
