mommay Posted January 11, 2006 Share Posted January 11, 2006 Im haveing serious issues with xp pro 64. Not only is there no support or drivers for anything I have. But Im haveing some sort of software related issue that is bogging my system down. Its causeing me to have Major ram spikes and minor HD spikes. This is causeing the system to allmost not respond to anything. keyboard mouse etc.......Any ideas on how to fix that??? Or is my best solution to install the old 32 bit version? cluberti Posted January 12, 2006 Share Posted January 12, 2006 The most important thing for an x64 system is proper driver support - without that, almost anything can (and does) happen to the detriment of the system. If you don't have signed, quality, supported drivers for (ALL) of your componenets, I'd say stick with 32bit until you can either get supported components, or drivers do come out for everything you currently have.It's no use troubleshooting application performance issues if you have driver issues - that could be the root cause of the application's problems, and you wouldn't know until you resolved the driver issues.
