my CMD is broken

When i go to start -> run -> cmd, i get the usual black screen of the command promt but it's black without the usual windows path.. only with a "_" blinking.. I can't type anything, and when i want to close it, it gives the default windows error messagebox..

Now i also installed new sounddrivers, and after a reboot, it wanted to run a batch file in command and offcourse this didn't work. Now my sound is all gone to hell .

I searched the net and forums and i didn't find any solution to this.. I tried copying the cmd.exe from my laptop , but this didn't fix it

When you Start/Run/CMD, Windows uses a default.pif file to determin the setting for the command prompt window. At least thats how older versions of Windows worked. Search for a default.pif in your Windows directory and if present - delete it.

Also, see if using CMD /D solves your problem.
