suman24 Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 I have a 6GB harddisk and I have installed windows 98 on my system on C: drive. I have 2GB space on my C: drive, which is set to primary and active.I am unable to create a D drive logical partiton for 4 mb on my hard drive. when i view it on partition magic through windows it gives the below information. Partition Type Size MB UsedMB Unused MB Status Pri/logical c: FAT 2000.2 941.6 1 058.6 Active Primary Extended 4188.8 4188.8 0.0 None Primary NTFS 4188.8 23.5 4165.3 None Logical Unallocated 7.8 0.0 0.0 None Primary when i try to covert the NTFS partition to FAT32 I get a error Error 156 Partiton is improperly dismounted and it will not allow me to do so. what should i do to create a logical D drive and get back my 4mb space. eagerly waiting for reply Thanks in advance
Bolt Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 when i try to covert the NTFS partition to FAT32 I get a errorIf you don't need the data in the NTFS partition, delete the NTFS partition. You can then create a new FAT32 partition.
