SharePoint Portal and Team Services Migration

Hi,

I have a SharePoint Portal server with 30 sites hosted in it. I am in the process of migrating some of the applications to a different server because of the load.

Can I migrate selected sites or parts of a site to another installation of SharePoint Portal? How do I extract definition and data of a list and upload it programatically.

If one of the sites is not using any of the new features of SharePoint Portal (like news, my site etc.), can I migrate that site alone to a SharePoint Team Services? If yes, How do I do it? Later Can I migrate the same site from Team Services back to Portal?

Please advice.

There are several third party resources as well to do what you want. A quick Google search on Sharepoint migration should reveal them.

Thankyou for the Help.

I have found out that by using the sharepoint Migration tools from Microsoft, customized views, form pages, link bars will not be migrated. How can I find out from the database, whether the existing applications has any customizations or not.

Please help.
