How to Rebuild an Operations master from scratch

I have a problem I was hoping I amy be able to get some help with...

We have a windows 2003 domain (staff) and a sub domain (students), ie students.staff.edu each domain has 2 domain controllers. The problem is that one of the Domain contollers (operations master for the student domain) and the backup tapes were distroyed. I have built a replacement server called redserv and made it a domain controller on the student domain.

Now as I understand I have to seize the operations master roles-- Ifrastructure master, PDC emulator and RID master. The Domain Naming master and Schema master are on one of the servers on the staff domian.

Is this correct

If so when I try to seize the Infrastructure master I get the following warning

CN=NTD

Settings,CN=redserv,CN=Servers,CN=Default-First-site-Name,CN=Sites,CN=Configuration,DC=Staff,DC=edu

is this correct, I thought it should end with DC=student,DC=Staff,DC=edu

I would hate to cause a problem with the staff domain!

Any suggestinos apart from keeping backup tapes somewhere away from the server would be very welcome

Cheers
