[Help] - drivers cd not working

Featured Replies

Hi,

This is probably a dumb question but I am confused and maybe someone here can help. I bought a new pc and had it put together in a store. They said they had tested it and should work fine. Today I tried installing xp on it, since it came without, also installed the drivers for SATA hd. The adapters on the on the floppy are:

NVIDIA RAID CLASS DRIVER (required)

NVIDIA NForce Storage Controller (required)

SiI 3114 SoftRaid 5 Controller for XP/Server 2003

SiI 3114 SoftRaid 5 Controller for Win 2000

SiI 3114 SATARaid (Non-RAID5 ROM Only) for XP/Server 2003

SiI 3114 SATARaid (Non-RAID5 ROM Only) for Win NT 4.0 and 2000

I installed the required ones and the SATARaid for xp?

Next, windows booted up normally so I tried installing other drivers from a dfi cd but it wouldn't start (device not ready). When I clicked on the dvd drive nothing came up, like the cd was empty. I tried it on another system and it worked fine and files were listed. Also, all other cds work allright on new pc, except this one. I need it for USB and audio drivers.

For my hard drive it says it is on primary ata channel and also for my dvd?

What did I do wrong? Thanks for all your help.
