lemonrusski Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 Hi all and thanks in advance for any replies, much appreciated.I have done minor studies in network admin, however I have just installed xp on a machine for my four kids and given them a user account each, with myself as an administrator along with the default administrator. I had it going pretty good, two partitions, d: inacessable (my storage space) and c: locked down to what they could use and hidden, and most of the control panel rendered useless to them by restricting the rights by searching for. cpl files and restricting the policies. The problem I am facing is when one user logs on and goes start>programs then drags the program eg spider solatiare to the desktop, it dissappears from all other users start>programs menu.Is there an easy to lock down the user account so they cant screw it up? All they need to do is play games type in word an maybe use ie. I really want them to have their own account, but not ruin the whole pc. I understand the use of policies and groups, but this is doing my head in. Any info is appreciated. Thanks again everyone.
