Printer half right after updates

After updated Win 2k pro from Microsoft Update with rollup 1 for windows service pack 4 my i860 Canon printer would only print from internet sites and email and will not print anything from my hard drive, it goes throught the motions but just spits out blank pages.

You help solving this one would be greatly appreciated.

The registry key for the printer has gone corrupt (sort of a known issue for 2000 after installing SP4 or URP1). If you uninstall the printer (and driver) and reinstall, it'll work again. There's also a way to do this by deleting certain registry keys in the PRINT subkeys, but it's easier to make sure the right ones go away by removing the printer and the driver itself (and less chance for error).

removed and reinstalled and it didn't help.

point me to the registry key maybe that will do it

I don't have a problem working in the registry.

I used "net stop spooler" at the command prompt to remove it then the installl Cd to install it.
