On resume, display Welcome screen?

Has anyone been able to enable this option under Screen Saver in Display Properties? I can only enable "On resume, password protect." :confused

According to the help topic: "To protect your files by using a screen saver password" in the Help and Support Center, if Fast User Switching is turned on, then you should be able to have the computer display the Welcome screen after deactivating the screen saver.

Or is this option only available if your user account is not password protected?

I have multiple accounts set up on my computer. I'd really like to be able to log on to my account with a password, but have the Welcome screen come up when I come back from the screen saver so that anyone else can log on to their account if I'm not around. Anyone know how to do this?

Is there some sort of registry hack for this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Ok follow me here.....Im at my PC , And I leave to go to the store. I get back and walk up to my PC. The screensaver is running. I move the mouse and the screensaver stops but now Im back at my login screen. I have to enter a password to gain access back into my OS. Is this what you want?

Just set a password for the user and pick a screensaver. That alL I did.

No, I think he wants it like win2k where if he locks the workstation, or the password protected screensaver comes up, only he (or the administrator) may unlock it. To do this, get rid of the welcome screen. Doing that alone puts everything more like Win2k, from the shutdown/logoff menus, to other stuff. It's better if you have a clue, and is the ONLY method used when connected to a domain.

Oh, and to turn off the welcome screen, goto control panel -> user accounts -> Change the way users log on or off. Uncheck use the welcome screen. There are other ways to turn it off as well, but this is the easiest.

Sorry, I wasn't very clear about what I meant. To quote the Help and Support Center[/color:70555fdf21]:

Okay, so I open the Display control panel and click on the Screen Saver tab. I have Fast User Switching on, so the [b:70555fdf21]On Resume, display Welcome screen[/b:70555fdf21] option should be available, but I only see the [b:70555fdf21]On Resume, password protect[/b:70555fdf21] option! This is the only option that appears here whether or not Fast User Switching is activated.

My problem is that I don't get the Welcome screen when the screen saver stops running. Instead, the login screen pops up asking for my password -- meaning that I [i:70555fdf21]and only I[/i:70555fdf21] can continue using the computer. No one else can log on to their account if I'm not around.

In short, why can't I get the [b:70555fdf21]On Resume, display Welcome screen[/b:70555fdf21] option in the Display control panel? This is what I really want. Is there a registry key for this? I hope this additional information clears things up. Thanks!
