I have been reading up on Gosh's RunOnceEx procedures and noticed:

RunOnceEx is only run at the 13 min mark by outlook express (msoe50.inf).

Does this mean that if I have removed msoe5 with nlite that this process won't work?

My current cd uses GuiRunOnce but I'm annoyed with having to add the HKCU registry tweaks for each new user so I was trying this out.

If this won't work without msoe5 then will the RunOnceEx / CmdLines.txt on the unattended site work? I haven't had much luck figuring out if registry keys from the first log on get written to the default registry hive or if thats too late..

Thanks, hope that made sense.

Any user-specific registry keys added during Windows setup are supposed to be applied to the default user hive, but that has it's limitations (it's not entirely built until after the T-9 mark, so some things just can't be added during setup itself). I've found that adding the regtweaks to the HKU key is easier and more complete if done via GuiRunOnce or RunOnceEx.

hopefully i am understanding you, you mean in the t12 step just directly add my registry keys at that point from the runonceex.cmd rather than the runonceex registry values created by the .cmd file?
