Hi

i ve got serious problems installing a HP ML310 Server. i want to create a bootable cd with integrated raid drivers (unattended). i try to install windows server 2003. the raid controller is an "Adaptec Embedded Serial ATA HostRAID Driver Ver 6.00 For Windows 2000/XP/2003".

first of all i started with the microsoft method using [MassStorage] & [OEMBootFiles] sections in the winnt.sif etc. it didnt work at all.

then i tried the second possibility: editing the txtsetup.sif. i added what is needed to "SourceDisksFiles", "SCSI.load", "HardwareIdsDatabase" & "SCSI" sections.

i copied the sys file in the i386 folder (compressed aarich.sy_). i created a $oem$ folder with this structure: "$oem$\$1\drivers\raid" in the "raid" (do i need a different folder? a name which is maybe in the inf file?) folder i put all the driver files in there (aarich.cat, aarich.inf, aarich.sys, aichmgt.cat, aichmgt.inf, hraidsk1, txtsetup.oem). then i added "OemPreinstall=Yes", "DisableVirtualOemDevices=Yes", "DriverSigningPolicy=Ignore" & OemPnPDriversPath = "drivers\raid" to the winnt.sif.

now the problem is when the files are copied onto the harddisk it crashes at 99% saying "Setup cannot copy the file: aarich.sys". i do not understand why it doesnt copy this file. i used the same boot cd to install a different client pc (without a raid controller) and it was successful. the raid drivers were copied onto the harddisk C:\drivers (something like that).

please help me because i have got no idea anymore

any help is appreciated

best wishes nik
