HyperHacker Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 So I've noticed that there's a flood control system in place that prevents people from posting more than once every 30 seconds... this is good, but there's a rather significant flaw. You can't even begin typing your post until the time expires! It's not uncommon that I read a thread, reply to it, then go to reply to another thread in another tab or start a thread. Why shouldn't I be able to type the post before the time has expired? In the rare case that I do finish typing in less than 30 seconds, then it makes sense to not let me actually submit the post yet, but to not let me write it at all is rather annoying.
prathapml Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 Hmm, that micro-level of control is not offered by the board software we use.But I COULD suggest the work-around that i use, though. You see that "Fast Reply" button at the bottom of topic? Use that one!
HyperHacker Posted October 23, 2005 Author Posted October 23, 2005 That doesn't do much good when posting new threads, though.Besides, this is a PHP-based forum. PHP code is interpreted. So essentially, you have the highest possible level of control.
