FAQ | How to get drivers from Windows Update?

Featured Replies

Hello, I'm looking for a way to get drivers for my hardware off Windows Update. I can't seem to get Windows Update to just give me the **** driver files to save somewhere, instead of only installing them for me. Some of the drivers on WU are newer than anything I can download from the manufacturer's website. So I want to take these drivers and add them to my unattended CD. I tried getting them using Windows Catalog (like suggested by unattended.msfn.org), but that doesn't work. Also, if someone could tell me where the downloaded drivers are stored, before they're automatically installed? Maybe I can get them that way.

search for cab file (named with 7 digits like 6215532.cab) in C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
