MS05-051 on WinXP SP2

Hi all,

I encounter serious issues after applying the MS05-051 patch to clients running WinXP SP2.

The behaviour is that users can logon but only see the plain desktop, say the wallpaper and nothing else. If I logon with an administrative account, I have the same behaviour but can see that an installation is being finished after the patch has been applied and the client was rebooted.

I used only the parameters /quiet /passive /norestart to apply it.

Anyone who came across similar behaviour?

I haven't had problems, but others have:
