Word: Crowded text in Normal or Page Layout

Windows XP, Word 2003

Text that is typed in either Normal Layout, Page Layout, and Print Preview appears to type right over itself, but appears as normal in Reading layout.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I am truly stumped at this point.

Does it do this with all fonts? It could be your monitor seetings or font. Have you checked your font properties. Do other text progrmas do this wordpad???
