How to stop IE from appending [1] to filenames

Hello, I'm wondering how I could stop IE from appending [1] to filenames when I save a file. When I download a .torrent file for example, in the save dialog IE always adds [1] to the file name for whatever reason. I find this very annoying and would like to get rid of it.

I apologize if this has been answered before, my searches turned up nothing.
