mflashx Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 Hi all,This is my first time of creating unattended windows, and I had a problem with office2003 , I want to creat unattended CD (Not DVD) , so its important to minimize the size of office 2003, Ive already created an Unattende.MST file, Ive chosen to install word, excel & powerpoint , but the administrative installation point still contain files for all office products, and this keeps it too large , I want to know how to modify this admin installation point to have it only containing files chosen with the *.MST file.Greets for all.
Zxian Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 You can get what you want one of two ways.1) Use 7-zip to compress the administrative install point. For me, the administrative, slipstreamed install point comes out at 634MB. Compressed it's 235MB. (Easy)2) Use Office Shrink. Search for it, read the thread and the how-to. Once you're done with that, you can compress the resulting files as well to further save space. Be warned. Every time you change something in your Windows installation, you'll need to recreate the shrunk Office package. (Difficult)
