Need Help Making A Self Install Disk

Featured Replies

ok i have been working on this disk for a while now... and i got it to work it runs a runonce.cmd file that puts it all into the registry and when u restart it installs each program that is listed in that file. i just want it so when i put the disk in now and i can run it as if its a setup i can have a welcome screen then a screen where u can select all the programs u want to install and not install (a check list) then i want it to do a unattended install of those programs

ok now i need to do the setup thingy i just dont know how to. i was thinking about using a autorun program but i dont think it can do what i want it to do. i also dont know any coding except html lol.....

if someone can help me thanks alot ! it would be a great help

it might sound like i know what i am doin but i really do i just cant explain it that well i guess

You want a selection list for the programs that are installed by RunOnceEx?

Very simple answer - WPI. Check out the forum here. You'll need to create the silent installers yourself beforehand as normal though.

Or are you talking about something like a CD that you insert after Windows has installed... I think you might be able to do this with an autorun... I'll have to check though.

EDIT Yes... I think that you should be able to do this with AutoRun. You just have to set up the proper variables.

its something that u put in after windows is installed... but i want to make it so it has like over 30 progams on it.. but sometimes i might not need to install it on this computer but i need to install it on another computer

its goin to be on a cd it fits on one already

i was thinking about it in more detal alittle idk how i am goin to do but i think i might have to me a specal runonce.cmd for ever single program that i dont mind

I don't know if you've got it, but AutoPlay Media Studio can do this for you... with a nice pretty interface as well.

If you want, I can run you through how to set up a simple interface. It might take a bit of time and basic scripting know-how to make, but it'll do what you want.

If all the programs can fit on the CD, you'll just need another couple of megs of space for the autorun.

EDIT - Wait a second... you said you wanted all of this after the computer has rebooted? With an autorun system, you wouldn't need to reboot.

ok i have a feeling u dont understand what i am trying to do.... i am making a cd that will install programs such as aim, mozzilla, winamp, etc...

so i what i want to do is make an auto run that i can select with a check list what programs it will install

i dont mind trying to do make a script u just have to give me a site or something to go too....

and all the programs fit with no problem its 178 right now so i can put like a hole program on it if i wanted to

i dont care if it reboots or not i can just have it exec something later on or something like that

just a side add if u want to get me on aim u can at misterchris17 that would be aim and we maybe talk faster there if u want
