katokay Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 If anyone knows of a way to do a silent install with google talk it would be much appreciated.
prathapml Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 Hot on the heels of the recent launch, we've got some fun things to do with Google Talk! There are some secret parameters that allow you to change the way the program runs. The most important I think it is /nomutex, which allows to open more than one instance; You can either sing in twice with the same user. These are the others:/forcestart, /autostart, /register, /checkupdate, /nogaiaauth, /plaintextauth, /factoryreset, /gaiaserver, /mailto, /create_sesion.To install, just try the plain "/s" or "/S" or "/silent".
katokay Posted October 4, 2005 Author Posted October 4, 2005 Yes /S works fine. Didn't think it would be that easy. I tried the /? and /help with no success. It still opens up the window, but I'm sure I can work around that.
prathapml Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 If it opens window, just look into task manager to find the filename of the process (*.exe).Then taskkill or pskill it on the command-line, to continue with silent install.
