Booting WinPE from RIS with Realtek 8110 NIC

Have anyone tried to boot WinPE of a RIS server using Realtek 8110-cards? I put the drivers (inf, cat and sys file) in the i386 directory (ie the root directory), and get the following error message:

"File Rtlnicxp.sys caused an unexpected error (21) at

line 3788 in d:\xpsp_rc1\base\boot\setup\setup.c."

This reminds me of the error messages recieved when booting from broadcom cards, but that problem was fixed by modding the .inf file. I tried to do some modification to the Realtek .inf file myself, but that didn't help :=/

I have tried several drivers from Realtek, and I have searched for a special .inf file from Realtek, with no luck.

The driver seems unified, so I guess the same problem would occur with for example Realtek 8139, but I don't have a card to test that with. If anyone have managed to get a 8139 card to boot, I would also like to know.

BTW, the RIS server is running 2003.

I found the problem some time ago.

As well as having the .inf and .sys file in the i386 directory, I had to put the driver (.sys file) in i386\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS and the .inf file in i386\INF. No modifications in the .inf file are needed.

ie. both the .sys file and the .inf files are duplicated.

Then restart the binl service on the RIS server.
