Maleko Posted September 27, 2005 Share Posted September 27, 2005 Ok, You know when you install a device, then move it to another PCI Slot, it reinstalls the hardware, but when it places it in device manager it lists it, but with a #2 after it...I know its just cosmetic, but anyway to rename it? I have tried editing the Registry, but it fails to complete it, just gives an error when renaming....any ideas? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

ademski Posted August 25, 2007 Share Posted August 25, 2007 You need to allow permissions on the folder inside the registry. When you are in regedit just right-click the folder and go to permissions and set your username with full control then modify the FriendlyName key.
