The Newest Noob Says "Hi"

Hi all,

I signed visited for the first time about 30 minutes ago and I signed up 2 min ago, so I am thinking right about now I am the newest of the noobs here.

*looks around sheepishly*

Well, just a bit about boring me: I got my first computer in 1984. I saw this cool Apple commercial so my dad bought one for me...I won't get stoned here for revealing that, will I?

A few months later, I was engrossed with the workings of my little Mac, so I performed surgury on it and couldn't ummmm....couldn't quite get it working right again. Much time and many punishments later I got her working and the dream was born -- well, second dream, my first was that I wanted to be a rockstar, but I only played the T-bone (not a good instrument for a power trio) and had a voice that sounded like a love-sick moose calling to its mate -- I was hooked on 'puters.

Fast forward 20 years, I have recently been blessed with/punished with responsibility of a network of 400+ workstations, 13 servers, etc. Never taken this step before and since everyone here looks at me like I am a computer god, I knew I would need help, so VOILA(!) here I am. I am hoping I can contribute at times and be helped at others. There is so much I don't know, even after all these years, but that arrogant punk who shredded his first computer is still eager to discover new things and is not afraid to try just about anything--except Rocky Mountain Oysters!
