Jlo555
I don't understand this at all. I installed windows 2000 pro sp4 on my desktop yesterday. I installed all of the drivers, until I got to the audio driver. I put in the cd for my creative sound blaster audigy 2 zs, it auto played, and I started the driver installation. While it was loading the setup wizard, my whole computer immediately restarts with no warning. Then when it gets to the login screen, it says that it can't find some weird system file. Am I doing something wrong? This has happened multiple times on different **clean** installs.
rjz
Check for the bsod error. You have to m go into sys properties and uncheck auto reboot. Als check your event viewer.
Jlo555
I solved the problem; but in a way that I didn't really like. I had to go to ctrl. panel>system>hardware>device manager and tell the little question mark for my "audio device" where the driver was located on the cd, instead of using the installation program. It worked, so I'm satisfied, but I don't think I'm getting all the 7.1 surround sound because I didn't go through the setthings in the creative installer. Oh, well, it worked anyway. rjz
Check your audio cp. The options should be there. Also try a new updates driver program now. WU might have 1.
