Letter / Form Writing

I want to be able to construct a letter / form from which the user can choose certain options which will inturn automatically enter a set passage of text into the form or letter.

ie Does the child require a new toy ? yes / no

If the user enters yes then the text " the child has requested a new toy " is added to the letter however if no is selected a different text is included.

I hope this gives you an idea of what i am trying to do.

I dont even know if Word is soffisticated enough to do this, if not can anyone suggest any other software - I cannot program myself just in case that was an option.
