Solution for Slipstreaming Dimension 9100

Recommended Posts

For those of you who have been searching a way to slipstream a Dimension 9100 with the BTX form factor mobo (like I have for the past few weeks), here's the solution to the problem - Tested on 2 computers so far and both worked:

1). Using a regular slipstream method as have been discussed in other forums

2). Download the latest Intel Drivers from the site below:

http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df...ystems〈=eng

(I used the floppy method - if anybody knows how to extract the files from the exe file, do tell) and set it in the CD like you normally do for the slipstream

3). Go to the Dim 9100 Bios and set the SATA setting to combo and restart the computer

4). Slipstream CD should be able to see the harddrives automatically then and it should work without a problem.

Hope that helps.

By setting it to combo on the 9100, please note that you will be giving up 2 of your sata slots....

You will only be able to use SATA 0 and SATA 2

SATA 1 and SATA 3 will be disabled and cannot be enabled.

If you change your Dimension 9100 Bios setting back to AHCI, your windows will not boot up. It will give your BSOD.

Just an FYI.
