IE works fine except when i right click on hyperlink and say open in new window.

It will do that but will close the other window.

Will not allow me to have more than one window open.

If you have the Yahoo! Toolbar, uninstall it.

Otherwise, go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Add/Remove Windows Components and remove Internet Explorer. Run a full system spyware scan using Spybot: Search & Destroy and Ad-Aware Personal Edition (make sure that you update the definitions first). Then use Windows Update to reinstall Internet Explorer or look for an Administrative installation file.

Interesting one isn't it?

Apparently the boys at Yahoo! think that having more than one instance of Internet Explorer isn't cool.

I realize this is off-topic, but, since the issue has been resolved, I am willing to forgive my own transgressions in this case.

Just wonder how you remove IE like this. The description of the IE item that is visible by default via the Windows Components Wizard reads: "Adds or removes access to Internet Explorer from the Start menu and Desktop." Clearing that box does not uninstall IE, it just removes those 2 shortcuts, if present.

As far as I know, Microsoft considered IE to be such an integral part of the OS that there is no way to remove it. The only way I know of to get a Windows XP installation without IE is to modify the installation files on the source CD.

Oh, sorry. I never actually looked at it. I just knew that there was an Internet Explorer entry there and assumed that it did uninstall the program.

I'm pretty sure that I've read that you can get rid of it somehow, just don't know how.
