network fax printer crashes word 2000

I have installed toshibas estudio series fax driver onto my windows 2000 machine. I fax just fine from other programs but when I print from word 2000, word crashes. My os and word 2000 are both updated fully. This is a network fax so I do not use the fax service. I choose the fax like a printer, add a phone number and hit print. This is when it crashes. Like I said I have updated both word and my os as well as made sure I have the latest driver from Toshiba. Anyone have any idea what the problem could be?
