Automatic Updates not responding

Hi ,

I'm facing a problem with my Windows XP Pro SP2 Automatic Update ,

I was downloading Automatically some Updates then after finishing the Downloading I run the update manually by clicking the icon ( Yellow sheild ) and choose Manual Install.

The following Update packs where included :

1 - Microsoft Windows Installer 3.1

2- Update for Windows XP ( KB898461)

I choosed Install , but in the middle of the installation I lost the power

Now Its showing Me when ever I shutdown the PC ( Installing Update 1 of 2 , Please wait and don't turn off the PC ) . Actually its not doing anyting and its just frozen on that screen and no activity.

The only way to shutdown my PC is to hold the power switch for 5 sec. to turn it OFF.

Please help me , maybe its just a registry settings I should clear or its files I should delete and then it should re-download the defected files again and so on.

maybe you could try and download the windows installer KB898461 manually and reinstall that installer and then try to update the rest of them.
