bigroo Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 I have a problem with chkdsk. Everytime I try to run Disk Defrag I get this error:"Disk Defragmenter has detect that Chkdsk is scheduled to run on volume: (C:). Please run Chkdsk /f."I have looked on this forum but I canot see the exact answer to my problem as it involves another process not functioning properly.I have run chkdsk the cmd way and that is no good.I have tried it by right clicking my c drive etc and that does not work either. It does work on my e drive however so it is functioning.I cannot start my recovery console or enter my bios settings etc as on start up all keys are disabled. I get the message to choose between recovery console or xp but cannot select any option and have to wait for the time out. The I get the blue xp screen saying that chkdsk cannot run (or words to that effect) and the pc boots into windows without achieving anything. Can anyone shed any light on this anomoly?
bigroo Posted August 19, 2005 Author Posted August 19, 2005 all keys are disabled. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Right, I have sorted out this problem (Thanks to Zxian ) The main problem remains, why can't I run chkdsk? What is stopping it from running?
