Formatting problem

Suppose, i select a single line or paragraph from the whole document and apply a particular format in MS Word 2003, it applies the same format to whole document. on clicking Undo button, it takes the changes back leaving the selected line or paragraph formatted. The problem occurs with only one document which is created on another PC. Whats wrong with it?

My only suggestion is that you turn on "reviel codes" and delete the extraneous items until the issue is resolved.

sorry - what does that mean? I have the same problem where the formatting changes in the whole document - it is mega annoying
